THE MICHAUD-WHALEN CLASS POINT SYSTEM
Earning Points
The class is able to earn 40 points each day for following class rules and using appropriate behavior. Each week, students earn 2 points for each signed parent letter slip (possible 40 points). That makes a possible 240 points earnable each week. Bonus points are earned for compliments given by teachers of pull-out classes and other special events, or for bringing requested items to class.
Spending Points
Class points are spent every time a class member is unprepared for class (no book, paper, pencil) at the rate of two points per item that must be supplied. Class points are also spent for inappropriate behavior (essay earned) at the rate of 4 points per name in essay box per day.
Using Points
Class points may be used in the following ways:
250 points 1 period free eat n’ seat (sit wherever you wish and have a snack as we do our regular lesson)
600 points 1 free period (class votes on how to spend the period: woodshop, games, holiday party, etc.) Note: in order to have a holiday party, enough points must be per-earned.
7500 points Overnight at school with parent help
15000 points camping trip with parent help
