Due to COVID-19 related school closures in March, April, and May of 2020, families who receive SNAP benefits and/or free and reduced lunch are eligible to receive an additional amount of money to purchase food. Families who are eligible will need to contact the Food Bank of Alaska (using the link below) to begin the application process. 

The VCS Counseling Team has put together a document of resources with the goal of enabling parents and guardians to help their student(s) process emotions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The City of Valdez maintains a webpage containing the press releases and mandates from the City in response to COVID-19, in addition to information about the economic recovery process. 

The Valdez Unified Command maintains a Facebook page as a way to help distribute information to the community. The page is regularly updated with messages from different members of the Unified Command group and new information regarding COIVD-19. 

The State of Alaska maintains a COVID-19 Information website. The COVID-19 data for the State is displayed on this site and updated daily. An extensive list of resources for businesses, individuals, and healthcare professionals is on this site, as well as all published health alerts and health mandates from the State.
