By law, all school-age children (3-21) in Alaska have the right to a free appropriate public education (FAPE). Some children may have a physical, mental, or emotional condition requiring assistance in order to benefit from district educational services. If you know of a child ages 3 – 21 who is not in school and may have a disability, please notify Valdez City Schools.

This could include:

Autism, Deafness, Deaf-Blindness, Early Childhood Developmental Delay, Emotional Disturbance, Hearing Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, Cognitive Impairment, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impaired, Speech/Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury or Visual Impairment.

Please call Valdez City School District Special Education Office at 907.834.4713 for an appointment. The district can help parents find the appropriate services for children with special needs.
