Special Education Preschool Program Description

The Special Education Preschool program provides Early Intervention Services for children from preschool to kindergarten (ages 3 to 5) who have identified special education needs. The purpose of Early Intervention Services is to intervene at the earliest stages when delays or disruptions in development are first identified, to help children reach their full potential. Early Intervention Services are provided in a variety of ways, dependent upon the child's age and identified special needs. Services are designed to prepare children for an inclusive kindergarten placement. Children qualify for the services by meeting criteria established by the federal and state law.

 

Kindergarten Bound Preschool Program Description

The Kindergarten Bound Preschool program provides Early Intervention Services for children preschool age who will attend kindergarten (age 4) the following year. The purpose of Early Intervention Services is to support the growth of preschool students to ensure literacy and numeracy skills and social/emotional skills are developed prior to kindergarten. Early Intervention Services are provided in a variety of ways, dependent upon the child's age and identified needs. The classroom is designed to prepare children for kindergarten placement.
