Valdez City School District offers assessments based on both state mandates and best practices. 

Alaska’s Assessment System is composed of statewide assessments including the

• Alternate Assessment
• English Language Proficiency Assessment
• National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) 
• Statewide Summative Assessment AK STAR 
• Statewide Summative Assessment Alaska Science Assessment 
• DIBELS mCLASS
