This is my third year teaching in Valdez!  I grew up in rural Illinois and earned a Bachelors of Science in both Math and Biology at Illinois College.  I was working as a molecular biologist in Alaska for several years, but decided to change careers and moved to Indiana to earn my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Marian University through a transition to teaching program.  I taught in Indianapolis for four years where I was lucky enough to teach every level of high school math from algebra through calculus.   Living in Indianapolis made me realize how much I missed Alaska and wanted to return.  I feel very lucky to be back in Alaska, and being in Valdez is certainly a bonus!

When I am not working, I love being outside and on the water, baking, taking care of my large number of house plants, and spending time with my cat.
