Mrs. Jenny Heckathorn

Mrs. Jenny Heckathorn attended Montana State University and earned bachelor of science degrees in biology, physical/health education and a MS degree in Science Education.  She taught Life science, coached track and volleyball at Sandcreek Middle school from 1992-1997 before moving to Valdez. She currently teaches Biology, Honors Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology, Forensic Science, Health, and is the co-Junior Class and Student Council Adviser. 

Having grown up in Montana, Jenny grew up playing sports and enjoys spending time with family in the outdoors flyfishing, alpine and nordic skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, sea kayaking and bowhunting. As a GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) certified teacher, Jenny got to take part in two Kilimanjaro expeditions with students, teachers, and scientists from around the world in 2010 and 2012. Her husband and son also accompanied her on the expedition in 2012.
