Mr. Wegner is a Buccaneer Alumni and has taught Health, Physical Education K-12 for Valdez City Schools for twenty-four years.  After retiring from the Valdez City School District, Mr. Wegner worked for the City of Valdez as the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director and Assistant City Manager for eight years.  His love is family and anything that has to do with sports and activities.  He is married to Mrs. Beck,  who is a retired 4th-grade teacher at Hermon Hutchens Elementary and is currently working at Seed Media.  They share five children, Brooke, Cole, Alex, Valia, and Sergei, who are also all Valdez High School Alumni. Currently, Mr. Wegner is the VHS Athletic Director.
