I am very excited to be teaching at Hermon Hutchens Elementary.  This year will be my 16th year of teaching.  Last year was my first year at Hermon Hutchens. The 4 years prior, I taught in Nome. I taught first and second grade three years at Nome Elementary, and 5th-8th grades for one year at Anvil City Science Academy. Prior to moving  to Nome, I taught five years of first grade and three years of second grade at Goose Bay Elementary in Wasilla, and two years of second grade in Point Hope. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing, and Masters of Education degrees as a  Reading Specialist and in Mathematics Education.

I was born and raised in Texas and lived in the Denver area for 5 years. I moved to Alaska fifteen years ago and consider Alaska  my home. I love teaching and building relationships with my students and families. My husband Shawn and I have two dogs Anna and Cosmo. In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, playing board games, and quilting.
