About Me!
I was born in into a military family. When I was four years old we were transferred to Eielson AFB and I’ve been in Alaska ever since.
After graduating from North Pole High School I wanted to be a teacher so I attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona where I began studying for a degree in elementary education. With a change of heart, I switched my major and graduated with a bachelors degree in Advertising. After graduation I moved back to Alaska, got married and moved to Valdez! I worked at HHES as a tutor and paraprofessional for a year then became the Director of the Valdez Youth Court for three years. After giving birth to my oldest son my husband and I moved to Fairbanks.
We were there for 10 years and during that time I was a stay at home mom taking care of our three boys. I stayed active in their schools tutoring, volunteering, attending PTA meetings and the such. Three boys is A LOT of work! Eventually, my husband’s job led us back to Valdez where we are now happily settled raising our crew.Shortly after returning to Valdez I realized that I have always been drawn to the schools and my desire to teach returned. I inquired into the licensing program at UAF and was enrolled the next semester. I received my K-8 license in May of 2019. My goal is to continue with my classes and receive my masters in education.
