This page is intended to provide you with general information for registering your child in Valdez City Schools. Please be sure to contact the specific school your child will be attending for additional information.
Student enrollment at Valdez City Schools is available online. Our electronic registration system simplifies the paperwork process for parents and guardians, allowing you to review, sign, and submit your child’s required forms digitally online via computer or mobile device . This process is intended to make the new school year form updates fast, easy, and safe.
Students New to VCS
Pre-Registration for NEW students in grades PK-12 is now open! Select the button below to complete a pre-registration form for each new incoming student.
This includes pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students starting school for the first time.
In order to register in Valdez City Schools, new students are required to submit the following as per VCS board policy.
- Original birth certificate. A birth certificate is required for verification.
- Meet immunization requirements.
- All students need to provide a copy of their current record of immunizations. Prior to first entry into school, a child must be fully immunized as required by law or file the necessary exemption paperwork. Please contact the school nurse if you have questions.
** These initial registration requirements are not applicable for students experiencing homelessness or those in Office of Children’s Services (OCS) custody/foster care; please contact your school secretary to get more information on these special circumstances.
Students Returning to VCS
2025-2026 enrollment for returning VCS students is open!
Annual enrollment and registration is required for all returning students. Parents can complete the online enrollment packet within the Parent Powerschool Portal via the button below.
How to Complete Online Registration and Enrollment:
- Log in to the Parent PowerSchool Portal. This is the same website or application you use during the school year to view student schedules and grades. In the URL box, the web address should be https://valdezcityschools.powerschool.com/public/
- Once logged in:
- On a web browser:
- Select the child you wish to enroll by clicking the student’s name in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select the Forms option located in the left-hand menu.
- Select the Enrollment tab.
- On a web browser:
- On the mobile app:
- Select the child you wish to enroll by clicking the student icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select the More option from the bottom menu.
- Select the Forms option.
- Press the drop-down field at the top of the screen and select Enrollment.
3. You should see seven forms ready for you to complete for each student!
Need Login Assistance?
If you're having trouble logging into your PowerSchool account:
- Click on the “Forgot Username or Password?” link on the PowerSchool portal login screen.
- If you're having difficulty with a password reset, try selecting the “Forgot Username” tab to ensure you're using the correct username.
